Darkroom Nine is a small photography studio.

Mostly portraits and weddings, with some magazine and product work in between. Studio sessions are by appointment. Write to us to book.

Services

  • Man with grey hair and glasses against a plain grey studio backdrop.

    Portraits

Sittings in the studio by the window, or somewhere that means something to you. One person or a whole family, and headshots for work too. Plan for about an hour.

  • Black and white photo of a wedding couple walking up a grassy slope.

    Weddings and events

We photograph the day as it happens and keep the posed pictures short. Mostly small weddings and civil ceremonies, and now and then a birthday or a company dinner.

  • A film camera, rolls of film and a lens cap laid out on a white surface.

    Editorial and product

Portraits and stories for magazines, and product photos for small brands and restaurants. Send a brief and we will tell you how we would shoot it.

Every job is quoted separately. Tell us the date and what you need, and we will send a price.

The studio

Darkroom Nine started as an actual darkroom: room nine at the end of a corridor, rented for developing and printing film. We still shoot film now and then, but most of the work is digital, and the room has become a studio with a big north-facing window.

We are a small team, so the person who answers your email is usually the one who takes your photos.

Client galleries

When your photos are ready, they go into a private online gallery at its own address, for example yourname.darkroomnine.com. Share the link with whoever you like and download the full-size files from there.

We send the link by email once the edit is finished. If you lose it, just ask.
